Hi cast! I'm your costumer, Laura Allan. I started costuming as a parent volunteer for one of my kids' plays. I've costumed several plays the last few years. I love working with the cast and crew to create incredible stories on the stage and am excited to work with all of you!

Things you should know about costumes:
Fittings and costume creation:
We will be providing most of the costume pieces.
You will be required to provide your own shoes(per costumer's instructions) and all under clothing to go under costumes.
We will try and keep this to a minimum but there will be things you will need to provide at your own cost.
We will be having fittings starting in May. We will let groups know when this happens but be prepared to come to rehearsal when called even if it is just for a fitting. We will try and do it in conjunction with the rehearsal schedule as much as possible. We will not be taking you away from what you are learning so you may have to stay a little bit or get there a little early. That information will be sent out as soon as available.
Please understand we have very specific looks we are trying to achieve and will constantly be altering or adding to so we can create this look. Please be courteous and understanding as these changes occur.

Notes on Costume maintenance and Dressing rooms
You need to treat the costumes with respect. Everyone will have hangers labeled with their names and the dressing rooms will be organized to help things run smoothly. It is your job as a cast member to help this process.
After every show return your costumes to their hangers, making sure you have all of your pieces and it is ready for the next day.
If there is a rip or something needing to be mended, tell costumers ASAP and bring it to us at the end of the evening so it can be ready for the following day. If you tell us during the show, we won’t remember. It is your responsibility to bring it to us at the end of the evening.
We know you have family and friends you want to visit with at the end of the evening. Please hang up costumes and tidy your area before going to see them.
If a costume needs to be laundered, you need to ask costumers before you take or wash anything!
No eating in costumes.
Be respectful in the dressing rooms.
No ladies in the men’s dressing room and no men in the ladies dressing room. The only exception to this is the production team in order to do their jobs. We will be respectful and let you know when we are entering to ensure everyone one is dressed/modest to their comfort.
No Items on the FLOOR! find a cubby to put your stuff
Only drink WATER in costumes
All drinks/food etc. should be on table in dressing rooms. Please clean up after yourself
EVERYONE will help clean dressing rooms during tech and the run of the show. See bathroom doors for sign ups
CAST PROVIDE NOTES
Please remember you will be in dressing rooms changing with others. You will need to wear underclothes for quick changing, for example a tshirt or tank and bike shorts. There is not space in the dressing rooms to have a private changing space.
If you are wearing a skirt or dress please wear black bike shorts or spanx underneath. Adult women and loud ensemble women- you need to have nude dance tights (As close to your skin color as possible).
If your list includes something you don't have and can't get please let me know.
Links are suggestions. You can get something similar that is keeping with the look. Keep in mind you may want more than one of something, like socks, to give you a chance to wash items between shows.

Dark Shoe ideas
PAJAMA NOTE:
-No licensed characters
-Must check off pajamas with me
-Please keep it decent
Socks:
With your school uniform if you have a skirt or shorts we want white crew socks or knee high socks.
DARK SHOES NOTE:
-Dark shoes. Shoes the kids can dance in. If you are not sure if your shoes will work or not ask before buying anything. Please approve your shoes with Laura before you purchase (if you need to get some).
Have your shoes by May 1.
REGULAR CLOTHES NOTE:
-Please use your everyday clothes in this color palette. Chinos, dark jeans, etc. Shirts in any of these colors.
ARTSY CLOTHES NOTE:
-Think fun, bright, colorful, tie-dye, vibrant. See pictures for general idea.
